What is Anger?
Anger is a natural human emotion that can range from mild frustration or irritation to intense rage. It often develops when we feel hurt, threatened, overwhelmed, misunderstood, treated unfairly, or unable to meet our needs.
Although anger itself is not a negative emotion, it can become difficult when it feels overwhelming, happens frequently, or affects relationships, work, parenting, confidence, or emotional wellbeing. Some people experience explosive outbursts, while others suppress or avoid anger completely, which can still have an impact emotionally and physically over time.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to explore anger and better understand the thoughts, emotions, and experiences underneath it. Support can help with sudden outbursts, chronic irritability, stress-related anger, conflict in relationships, parenting frustrations, workplace difficulties, or anger connected to anxiety, low mood, or past experiences. Together, we can explore triggers and patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation and communication, and work towards responding to anger in ways that feel more manageable, constructive, and aligned with your values.
