What is Relationship Support?

Relationship counselling is a dedicated space for you to explore the dynamics of your connections. While many view it as something you do when a relationship is in crisis, it is equally important as a tool for growth. It is a collaborative process where we look at how your personal history, communication styles, and emotional needs interact with those of the people in your life.
The sessions are grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience, we aren’t just looking for "fixes"; we are working to understand the underlying currents influencing your interactions, helping you move from negative patterns toward deliberate, authentic and honest communication.

What Does it Look Like?
Â
Relationship counselling looks different for everyone, as it is tailored to what you are bringing to the room. Sessions often involve:
Â
-
Exploring Communication Cycles: Identifying the habitual ways you express, or suppress your needs, and how these patterns might be unintentionally creating distance.
 -
Understanding Attachment: Looking at how your early life and past experiences shape how you connect with, trust, or pull away from others.
 -
De-escalation and Regulation: Learning to recognise when you or your partner have become dysregulated, and developing shared tools to bring the conversation back to a place of safety.
 -
Reframing Perspectives: Developing a deeper capacity to hold space for another person's reality without losing your own sense of self.
Who Might Benefit?
Â
Relationship support is not limited to any one "type" of person or situation. It is for anyone who feels that their relationships are not serving their wellbeing or who wants to understand their own role in the relational dance. You might find this beneficial if:
Â
-
You find yourself repeatedly stuck in the same arguments or "dead ends" in communication.
 -
You feel a growing sense of isolation or disconnection within a significant relationship.
 -
You are navigating a period of life transition (such as parenthood, career changes, or loss) and need support in aligning with those around you.
 -
You want to explore your own boundaries and learn how to assert your needs without fear of conflict.
 -
You feel that your "past" is bleeding into your "present," affecting how you show up for the people you care about.
